No Secrets. Just Open, Honest Communication.
We understand that making the decision to replace failing or missing teeth with dental implants is a big choice that should not be taken lightly. At McKinney Dentist, we want to make every step of the dental implant procedure as transparent as possible for our patients to make the decision to say “Yes!” even easier. Since our practice features full-scope implantology, every step of your dental implant procedure is performed in our office by the same trusted team of doctors you meet during your consultation.
No matter if you are replacing a single missing tooth or receiving full-arch dental implants with Esteem Dental Implants, we have outlined the general procedure process you will go through from start to finish at McKinney Dentist.
"No more worries—Teeth Tomorrow was my answer!"
Your Process When Choosing Dental Implants
The first step of the process for dental implants in McKinney, TX, is the consultation so we can learn more about your needs, discuss your smile goals and create a treatment plan unique to you. You will have all your questions answered and learn all the information you need to make an informed decision. In many cases, we are able to provide you with an estimate to your overall dental implant cost.
In many instances, we can roll the first step into the second during the same appointment. The records and preparation stage is when we capture photos of your jaw and oral structure, take impressions of your bite and teeth and learn about the ideal position to place your dental implants. In some cases we will need to perform bone grafting or gum disease treatment before surgery can begin.
During dental implant surgery, we offer a variety of sedation options, including providing IV sedation administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist for your safety and comfort. Once you’re sedated, we will extract any failing or damaged teeth, place dental implants into your jaw, and take impressions of the new state of your mouth. For those receiving Teeth Tomorrow, you will be sent home to rest and recover and will come back the next day to receive your temporary bridge. This bridge will allow you to eat and smile more confidently while you await your permanent teeth.
Once your permanent new teeth are created and your dental implants heal, we will have you come back to the office to have additional impressions taken and teeth attached. For full-arch Teeth Tomorrow cases, this can take up to four months, but crowns for individual dental implants can be prepared earlier. Your permanent teeth will be secured to the dental implants and you will be able to go about your day without worry of your smile again.
