The Journey that Led Me to McKinney Dentist

I’m Dr. Lynch and I’d like to share a bit about the journey that brought me to McKinney Dentist!

Growing up, my younger brother and I were born and raised in the cold. Our family lived in Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Connecticut, and finally settled in Chicago. I’d like to think our Scandinavian roots equipped us to handle those brutal winters.

After completing high school in Barrington, a NW suburb of Chicago, I headed for warmer weather and chose to pursue my undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Oklahoma. I played rugby for the club team until my junior season was cut short by a broken wrist. As I filled out my dental school applications with my right hand in a cast, I couldn’t envision being successful in the long term if I was always hurt. So right then I decided it was time to put my focus on my future in dentistry.

Further south I went! My DDS degree was earned at Baylor Dental School in Dallas. This is where Dr. Berlin and I met. Those four years produced a few gray hairs, but more importantly a lifelong friendship. I have countless memories from school that I hold dear and the first patient I ever performed a root canal on ended up being my wife of 28 years, Diane…so that one will always be my favorite.

More about Dr. Lynch – After Graduation

After graduation, we got married and moved out to Salem, Oregon, where I began my professional career and practiced for 6 years. Home started calling so we packed up and moved back to Chicago where I took over a small practice on the North Shore.

In 2000, I made my return to Texas. I joined another friend from dental school in a busy and growing practice for 5 years until I got the chance to partner with my buddy Dr. Berlin here in McKinney! I jumped at that chance and have never looked back! Our doctors get along so well! It’s amazing to work with people who have similar professional goals and practice philosophies–oh, and we all love college football!

Most of my focus has been in the area of Dental Implants and tissue augmentation and regeneration. These procedures allow me to help patients regain lost teeth, gum tissue, and bone that they’ve lost due to dental disease or trauma.

My Love for Replacing Missing Teeth

I’m proud to be the co-founder and Sr. Director of Esteem Dental Implants, a nationwide group of dentists whose primary focus is restoring patient’s confidence and self Esteem through dental implant treatment. I’ve been blessed to mentor and train other doctors in these techniques to help even more people!

My Family Life And Interests

In regard to my life outside of the office, Diane and I have 3 grown kids, 2 wonderful sons-in-law, and the sweetest granddaughter ever. Fitness is a passion of mine and I love working out everyday.

I also love to hike, ski, and eat! When you come in for a visit feel free to share your favorite recipes! Coconut is my favorite!
