Our Removable Denture Options
Immediate Dentures
Our immediate dentures are just that—removable dentures that are placed the same day, at the same appointment when the teeth are removed. Patients appreciate never going a day without teeth! During your first appointment, we take digital impressions of your teeth and gums. Many times, the old messy and gaggy impression materials can be avoided with our digital technology! Then you choose the color and shape of your new removable denture. There will be times when you need adjustments and those are easy appointments. After 3 to 6 months, we perform a reline to refit your denture to your new gums and jaw contour.
Snap-In Dentures
McKinney dentists offer implant supported snap-in” dentures. This requires a simple procedure to lock-in your removable denture by using a customized combination of holding caps and snap-on components. Essentially, your removable dentures will be supported using multiple dental implants that pose as the tooth’s root! Thus, implant lock-in dentures eliminate the need for messy, irritating denture adhesive since they are stable and non-shifting.
Denture Fountain of Youth
These are the highest quality and most customized removable dentures. Our patients consistently rave about how comfortable and well-fitting this type of removable denture is and how aesthetically-pleasing they look! Since dentures are positioned partially on muscle, our dentists evaluate the best position where your muscles are most stable and relaxed, and where your bite position produces the best muscle function. All of these elements directly correlate with how well your dentures fit, and how naturally beautiful they look.
Partial Removable Dentures
Another option is a partial removable denture that replaces one or more teeth, and is created from all-acrylic, or, for increased strength, acrylic with a metal base. As a less expensive alternative to attached bridges or when there are not enough good teeth for fixed bridges, we recommend partials for tooth replacement. Patients must wear their partials throughout the day and remove them at night. This gives your gum tissue a break and helps prevent fungal infections.
